Humanities Online

Several of the Humanities faculty use a online learning platform that we call Humanities Online, based on the open-source project Moodle. Many face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses taught in the Humanities Department will use this server for coursework instead of or in addition to WebCT. Check with your professor to see if your class will use Humanities Online.

Login or Signup

If you’re taking a course labeled “online” or “hybrid,” it’s always a good idea to contact your professor well before the semester begins to see if and when you will meet. Otherwise, show up for the first scheduled meeting to be sure you know what is expected of you in the course. Don’t be surprised if there are penalties for missing orientation.

Groups

The faculty and students are varied. We, therefore, have various interests and groups to which we lend our time and support. Access these groups’ pages below. Have we forgotten an important group? Let us know.

• English Studies Organization (ESO) — A student organization dedicated to supporting members’ appreciation of literature.
• Publish or Pasta — A faculty writing workshop and social group.
• Teaching Tuesdays — A faculty workshop and forum for sharing teaching ideas.
