Major in English!

On February 13, 2007, the University System of Georgia’s Board of Regents authorized Macon State to offer the bachelor of arts in English. Why major in English? In addition to being the perfect major for anyone who has a passion for reading and writing, a degree in English offers numerous career opportunities.

Humanities Online

msc-hum-ad21Several of the Humanities faculty use a online learning platform that we call Humanities Online, based on the open-source project Moodle. Many face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses taught in the Humanities Department will use this server for coursework instead of or in addition to WebCT. Check with your professor to see if your class will use Humanities Online.

Login or Signup

If you’re taking a course labeled “online” or “hybrid,” it’s always a good idea to contact your professor well before the semester begins to see if and when you will meet. Otherwise, show up for the first scheduled meeting to be sure you know what is expected of you in the course. Don’t be surprised if there are penalties for missing orientation.
